These three-day institutes focus on strategies for assisting students with developing their science understanding through writing. Participants explore how to create scientist notebooks to structure student scientific explorations and discoveries. They learn how to scaffold science instruction and increase learning through scientific drawings, graphic organizers, and writing frames. Institutes are designed for science teachers and language arts teachers from grade 3-8, school-based instructional leaders, and district curriculum leaders.
Institutes are held regularly at Clemson University and can be scheduled at other sites. A registration fee is charged for each participant.
