Kit A

Kit A includes manipulatives such as collections of objects, number and object cards, and number lines. One-to-one correspondence, counting, and ordinal numbers are investigated. Concrete objects are used to create models of addition and subtraction. Numbers of objects are compared and described as greater than, less than, or equal to.

Kit B

Real-life problem solving situations are explored in this kit. Foundations are laid for the understanding of fractions, equality, probability, and proportional reasoning. Number concepts are investigated through written and verbal descriptions, strategies and algorithms, and manipulatives including games and hundreds charts.
