The Developing Number Concepts strand has two modules (A and B) at each grade level, which represent one-half year’s instruction. Concepts including basic facts, properties of numbers, place value, computation, estimation, number theory, fractions, decimals, percents, probability, and discrete math are developed in the numbers strand. At any grade level, Module A should be taught before Module B. The number of lessons range from 40 at kindergarten to 54 at fifth grade. Lessons can be divided between phases of the learning cycle or within the Investigate phase. The lessons within a module are designed to be taught sequentially.
