The Developing Measurement Benchmarks modules each have 20 lessons. The first subconcept at each grade level develops understanding of linear measurement in both the metric and customary systems. The remaining subconcepts build on this foundation by analyzing units for the measurement of area, volume, time, temperature, capacity, and weight/mass. In grades K-2, money concepts are included in the measurement modules. In grades 3-5, money is taught in the numbers modules. Each Developing Measurement Benchmarks module is designed to take 20 to 30 days to teach. Lessons can be divided between phases of the learning cycle or within the Investigate phase. The twenty measurement lessons are designed to be taught sequentially.
