Developing Geometric Logic

The Developing Geometric Logic modules each have 20 lessons. The first subconcept at each grade level develops spatial understanding of three-dimensional shapes. The remaining subconcepts build on this foundation by sorting, analyzing, and representing two-dimensional shapes and investigating relationships among two- and three-dimensional shapes. Concepts about polyhedra, polygons, transformations, and coordinate grids are built vertically throughout the strand. The Developing Geometric Logic module is designed to take 20 to 30 days to teach. Lessons can be divided between phases of the learning cycle or within the Investigate phase. The twenty geometry lessons are designed to be taught sequentially.
